Resilience

Resilience refers to the ability of a system to bounce back from a disturbance or adapt to change. Relating to forests, it is how forest-related socio-ecological systems can respond to change in a manner that maintains critical interrelations (ecosystem functions/services/goods) within the systems.1 For Mediterranean forests, resilience is a term with many applications, particularly for climate, community and ecology.
