Climate change

Mediterranean forests confront certain vulnerabilities in the face of climate change, including threats from drought and wildfire. However, forests are also an important tool in global climate mitigation strategies: they play a key role in maintaining a humid mesoclimate and rainfall recycling, as well as in carbon storage, and forest resources that could be essential in providing renewable solutions to shift our reliance away from fossil-based resources.
