After three years of collaborative work, the ResAlliance project has released the Landscape Resilience Blueprint for the Mediterranean Region, a strategic framework designed to strengthen the adaptive capacity of agriculture and forestry systems facing growing climate-related threats.
The Blueprint addresses key challenges such as droughts, wildfires, floods, desertification, and pests and diseases, offering pathways to build resilient landscapes across the Mediterranean.
Coordinated by ELGO DIMITRA and involving 16 partners from across the region, the Blueprint is structured around four main pillars: governance, management practices, technology, and finance. These pillars aim to drive systemic change by promoting inclusive policies, climate-smart land use, digital monitoring tools, and accessible funding mechanisms.
The publication provides an overview of the project’s approach and introduces the main concepts in a concise, easy-to-read format. It also encourages readers to explore further materials available on the ResAlliance website, including the 120 good practices for landscape resilience collected from across the Mediterranean basin.
The Blueprint concludes by calling for continued and multi-faceted efforts to foster resilient Mediterranean landscapes through collaboration, innovation, and effective policy support.
