The Laurus Network, a new European initiative supporting small forest owners, marked a successful milestone with its first webinar on 17 September 2025. Titled “The Voluntary Carbon Market and Land Use Carbon Projects in Europe”, the webinar provided an overview of how forest owners and land managers can take advantage of carbon markets. Attendees delved into of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM), from an international perspective down to the EU and national levels, and gained insights into market trends and data, key figures, and average credit prices, with a particular focus on the differences between forest-based credits and those from other sectors. The webinar also featured real-world examples of carbon projects, aiming to inspire European small forest owners who are currently awaiting practical methodologies tailored to their smaller-scale properties and looking to unlock value through improved forest management.
The webinar recording is available to all Laurus Network members in the “Resources” section of the members’ area. Anyone interested can register for free to access it and join this growing community.
