Established to mark FAO’s 80th anniversary, the prize recognises inspiring, youth-led innovations in sustainable forest management, particularly those using new technologies to address today’s most pressing environmental challenges under three categories:

  • Digital technologies
  • Product/process technologies
  • Biotechnology

Winning teams will receive up to 10,000 USD in research funding, global visibility, networking opportunities, capacity development, and an invitation to FAO headquarters to present their research at the Transformative Research Challenge 2025 event in October 2025.
