The EU forest-based sector’s role in the transformation of the built and living environment

The Wood4Bauhaus Alliance is calling for stronger support for the New European Bauhaus initiative within EU funding programmes, emphasizing its potential to transform the built environment towards sustainability and inclusivity.

The Wood4Bauhaus Alliance is contributing to the ongoing debate concerning the future role of New European Bauhaus (NEB) within the European funding programmes through an open letter. They present a list of detailed recommendations aimed at strengthening NEB’s presence in the EU funding programmes, underlining the important role of the NEB for the transformation of the built environment towards a sustainable, circular, and inclusive model.

Key statements of the letter include:

  1. Make Europe world leader in circular and regenerative construction
  2. Ensure people-centred governance of the transformation
  3. Boost investment and funding support for upscaling R&I

To date, this open letter has received confirmed support from 82 signatories of the W4B Alliance and representatives of 73 organisations in 21 countries.
