The practical guide, prepared as part of the Interreg POCTEFA ACCLIMAFOR project, provides an operational response to three major challenges posed to the project by Pyrenean managers. The information produced in the CANOPEE and ACCLIMAFOR projects has been organised in a practical format and has been completed with other relevant information prepared by the different project partners.

1) Indicators and evidence of climate change in Pyrenean forests
First conclusions from the analysis of monitoring plots on phenology, defoliation and floristic composition carried out jointly in the last decade for the entire Pyrenean massif.

2) Adaptive capacity and changes in the distribution of tree species
A summary of existing mapping tools on both sides of the Pyrenees to support understanding of the impact of climate change on the distribution and vulnerability of different species, as well as other relevant information.

3) Adaptive forestry
Silvicultural adaptation strategies developed in detail in the CANOPEE guide are summarised, and the issue of forest plantations in the context of climate change is addressed, incorporating new knowledge generated by the project ACCLIMAFOR in the last 3 years.
