The European Forest Institute’s Mediterranean Facility (EFIMED) team is going on summer holidays, but not before bringing you the last newsletter of the season! In this July edition we bring you up to date with several stories related to forest fire prevention and articles addressing the role of trees as allies for human well-being in cities as well as for the fight against climate change.

However, it is worth highlighting in the newsletter the top story that heads this bulletin: the presentation in Spain of the Mass Madera initiative, in which EFIMED participates, to promote the decarbonisation of construction and architecture through a firm commitment to the use of wood as a material of the present and future.

We also recommend that you take note of all open calls (this edition comes with interesting job vacancies at the European Forest Institute!) and events that are planned for the coming autumn, both online and in person.

We wish you happy summer holidays! See you in September with fully charged batteries!
