The Forests Special Issue entitled “The Diversity of Wood and Non-Wood Forest Products: Anatomical, Physical and Chemical Properties, and Potential Applications” aims to gather research-based data on wood as well as on non-wood forest products, with special emphasis on bark—specifically its anatomical, physical, and chemical properties and their relationships—to provide tools and background information to assess the forest-resource potential of different species, namely from the Mediterranean areas. This special issue belongs to the section “Wood Science and Forest Products” within the scientific journal.
This section publishes original research studies, applications and review articles describing research on all aspects of wood, including forests and plantations, wood components, and wood-based products. In addition, it also publishes articles on non-wood products derived from forest resources, collectively described as non-timber forest products (NTFP).
