The legacy of the H2020-funded INCREDIBLE project on non-wood forest products (NWFP) continues! Despite finishing in April 2021, this EFIMED-coordinated project has sparked ongoing collaboration and associated activities with FAO Forestry Division and the IUFRO task force “Unlocking the bioeconomy and non-timber forest projects”.
Three upcoming events will feature the White Paper “Non-wood forest products for people, nature and the green economy. Recommendations for policy priorities in Europe“, co-published by EFI and FAO in EFI’s Knowledge to Action series, which is now available in Spanish and Greek, with French and Italian versions coming soon.
- A Latin American version of the INCREDIBLE NWFP Policy Forum takes place in March, organised by the IUFFRO task force: Virtual Policy Forum: Untapping the potential of non-wood forest products for Latin America bioeconomy.
- A session, co-organised with FAO, is held at the 7th Mediterranean Forest Week, also in March, presenting the White Paper on NWFP and looking at success cases on moving from policy to practice, with a debate on how to strengthen NWFP value chains as a result of policy recommendations.
- A side event in May at the XV World Forestry Congress Building a Green, Healthy and Resilient Future with Forests, organised by the IUFRO task force.
