The New EU Forest Strategy 2030 recognises the need to develop a European forest monitoring system in all the Member States for information-based decision making. The purpose of the webinar, organised by the Natural Resources Institute in Finland (Luke) and the European National Forest Inventory Netwrok (EN-FIN) on 27 January 2022 is to continue the discussion of how National Forest Inventories (NFIs) can contribute to a European level forest monitoring system.

The Webinar topics cover the potential of NFIs in monitoring biodiversity and climate change impacts at the European level, as well as how to use NFIs in strategic forest planning and decision support.
