In 2022 Barcelona will be the European City of Forests. The Ecoserveis Association, in collaboration with the European Forest Institute and the Barcelona City Council, wants to contribute the vision of different sectors to include it in the content of the EFI Annual Conference programme next year, as well as to transfer the opinions and concerns expressed by citizens at the event’s round tables.

Looking forward to this objective, on 23 November at 17h (CET) a new session open to the citizens of Barcelona will be organised to talk about Bioenergy, in which a space for debate will be created to learn about different viewpoints on this issue, such as: what we understand by “bioenergy”, what role it will play in the cities of the future, how to apply and/or encourage it locally, etc., in order to share knowledge, ideas and opinions.

This session is part of the “Forests and Citizen Science” initiative, which will last until the end of 2021 and links the scientific and educational fields through five sessions aimed at citizens to address different topics on the impact and potential benefits of the circular bioeconomy and forests on urban environments. The topics to be addressed are Green Pedagogy, Health, Bioconstruction, Bioenergy and Citizen Science.

Registration is open to the public and free of charge. On this occasion, the session will have the collaboration of the Barcelona Fire Brigade. The session will take place at the Espai Bombers Parc de la Prevenció de Barcelona (Carrer Lleida, 30).
