A new guide seeks to build bridges between three essential aspects for our society: local policies, the management and conservation of forest services and values, and in particular peri-urban areas, and the challenge of adapting to and mitigating the impacts of climate change. These three aspects are strongly interrelated, and therefore it is essential to explore how to progress towards integrating them. The guide provides examples and specific proposals on how the local administration can promote the adaptation and conservation of peri-urban forests in the context of climate change.

The guide is accessible in English, Spanish and Catalan and has been produced in the framework of LIFE MixForChange project. The publication is authored by the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC), FOA Montnegre-Corredor (APMC), Forest Ownership Center of Catalonia (CPF) and Barcelona Province Council (DiBa). Four summaries addressed to specific audiences are available from the publications section of the project webpage.
