Closing a challenging year with a very active Mediterranean network

EFI’s Mediterranean Facility (EFIMED) brings the year 2020 to a close with the latest December issue. This latest edition includes a wealth of news on sustainable forestry, new horizons in Europe in this field and initiatives and projects that revolve around the idea of sustainability as a driving force for progress and prosperity in societies and economies emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The reader will also find interesting calls for studies and opportunities for work and training coming from CREAF, in Barcelona, or the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) office in Brussels, Belgium.

Certainly this 2020 has been a very challenging year, but even so EFI’s Mediterranean network has been very active and moved forward with an endless number of initiatives, projects and events taking place. It has been a more digital year, where the word “online” has been the main protagonist, but let’s hope that from next year onwards all this energy and thrust will also be channelled into more face-to-face gatherings!

On behalf of the whole EFIMED team, we wish you a happy holiday season and a brighter new year 2021!
