In view of the 8th Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe, to be held on 28-29 October 2020 in Bratislava, Slovakia, the FOREST EUROPE Liaison Unit in the country is organising a photo competition under the theme “Forests for Society“. This contest aims to raise awareness of the social aspect of forests: how they support us in our daily lives to show the need to maintain a balance between the multiple environmental, economic and social functions of forests.

All those interested in participating should upload a photo that captures people in the forest, using the forest, supporting forest workers, forest villagers and all of society enjoying the benefits of the forest. All photographs must show forests and other wooded land in the Pan-European region.

Three photos will receive a prize. The winners of the competition will be chosen in two categories: first by a public vote on the FOREST EUROPE Facebook page and second by a professional panel. The duration of the contest is 3 months, from May to the end of July.
