International opportunities at Chile’s University of Concepción

The Postgraduate Direction of the University of Concepción, through the “Plan to Strengthen the Internationalisation of the Postgraduate and Research of the University of Concepción” financed by the Ministry of Education of Chile, offers financial support for activities related to attracting academics from foreign countries (sabbaticals, visits and participation in summer school 2020).

The general objective of this competitive fund is to contribute to the academic and scientific strengthening of the doctoral programmes of the University of Concepción by attracting academics of excellence who research in international institutions.

The specific objectives of this programme are:

  • To strengthen the research capacities of doctoral students and academics in the doctoral programmes of the University of Concepción.
  • To support doctoral students in their links with academics from abroad in their studies, training and postgraduate research.
  • Generate or reinforce international collaboration networks with the aim of promoting internships and doctoral students tutorships.

Sabbatical stays for international academics can range from 2 to 4 months and the maximum amount they can receive is 8 million Chilean pesos during that period (approximately 9,600 Euros).
