On 19-20 November 2019 the French city of Toulouse will host the symposium “Adapting forests to climatge change” where a programme of activities and talks, networking opportunities and debate with experts from Europe in the field of forest adaptation to climate change will take place.

The deadline for abstracts submission for the symposium is 31 August 2019. Project holders, scientists and stakeholders from across Europe are invited to submit their proposals in the area of selection of forest management procedures and tree species for future climates, conservation of natural forest habitats in a context of climate change or decision-making tools to adapt forest management strategies to climate change, among many other issues. Several travel grants will be awarded on a competitive basis based on the quality of the abstract submission determined by an examination board.

This symposium is organised by FORECCAsT, a LIFE project aiming to provide Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park producers and forest managers with means to build a forest management strategy that takes into account the impact of climate change, favours territorial forest ecosystems and ensures a dynamic forestry sector, which locally supports vital environmental, economic and social stakes. Its goal is to raise awareness of the challenges posed by global change among stakeholders, elected representatives and the general public.
