Vietnamese-Spanish collaboration for forest-based bioeconomy

A recent seminar in Hanoi, Vietnam emphasised collaboration between Spain and Vietnam on themes of forest-based bioeconomy and payments for ecosystem services.

The VNU University of Science (VNU-HUS), in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Hanoi and the University of Valladolid (UVa), co-hosted a seminar in Hanoi on 18 March 2019 on the development of the forest-based bioeconomy in Vietnam.

The seminar focussed on a wide range of topics relevant to international climate policy, scholarly research, and practical applications of the forest-based bioeconomy, including presentations on payments for ecosystem services and the importance of bioeconomy efforts for rural development.

This seminar is part of the ongoing project “European-Vietnamese Higher Education Network for Sustainable Forest-and Bio-Economy,” coordinated by the VNU University of Science, Eberswalder University of Sustainable Development from Germany, UVa, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences from Finland, Vietnam National University of Forestry, and TUAF.
